Brick Sales for 2008 - 2009 School Year Ending Soon!

The final date to order a Legacy Brick will be March 13th.  Please have your orders in by that time.  Simply complete the order form and return to the front office.

Ford Elementary School Foundation appreciates your purchase of a personalized, engraved brick. All net proceeds will help fund enhanced educational opportunities that otherwise would not be a part of the Ford Elementary School instructional program. The bricks will be installed in the pathway from our gardens to the playground area and will be showcased during Evening in the Garden.

Run the Final Lap for the Science Lab

 

Thank you VERY much for supporting Ford Elementary’s first ever Boosterthon Fun Run!  We have all come together and done an incredible job to help our school reach our goal of a new Science Lab!!  

 

Please use the red collection envelope provided for your child to use when collecting pledges. Please return this envelope by Tuesday, December 2^nd.  Checks should be made payable to CCSF - Ford ES Foundation.   Remember all contributions are 100% tax deductible!  10% of the collections will go directly back to the classrooms!

 While the Boosterthon Fun Run involved EVERY CHILD regardless of financial participation, 80% of Ford Elem. students participated financially in the program!  What a great time of team building it has been!  Here are a few of the facts:

 

• As a whole, the students averaged 31.8 laps at the Boosterthon Fun Run (this is about 2 miles)
• A total of 26,792 laps were run by Ford Elem students (this is 1,685 miles)…or simply put -  our students  “ran” to the  Grand Canyon yesterday.  Now that’s dreaming BIG!!!

 

·    Pledges have been received from 49 states and over 10 different countries

 

·    Over 20 classrooms received pledges from at least 20 different states & countries

 

·    If we collect 90% of our pledges, we will have raised close to $40,000 for the Science Lab, our classrooms and students of Ford Elementary. 

 

Also, two classrooms will enjoy a Pizza celebration from Cici’s Pizza by accomplishing the following:

 ·         The classroom with the top % of pledges collected by December 2^nd

 ·         The classroom with the top dollar amount collected

 

 

Now the final lap has to be run. Let’s make it 100% at Ford Elementary! It is so important to bring in the pledges dollars in order to make the Science Lab a reality.

On Your Mark. Get Set. Fun Run!

Nov. 5th (Pep Rally) – Nov. 13th (Fun Run)

On November 5^th , we will be kicking off the Boosterthon Fun Run. Please look for your child’s “pledgebook” and informational DVD to learn how you can help. The Boosterthon Fun Run is interactive, community-based and promotes three specific values: FITNESS, EDUCATION & CHARACTER. Students will be challenged to secure 10 pledges for the laps they will be running on November 13^th. Students will “run” for 30 minutes and average 25-35 laps with a “lap cap” of 35 laps.

All proceeds will go to help Ford Elementary reach the goal to have a

Science Lab by January 2009!

The Boosterthon Fun Run is for EVERY student regardless of financial giving. All students receive an All-Star T-Shirt and we invite all parents to come to the Boosterthon Fun Run and share this great event with them!

We ask you to help Ford Elementary in the following four ways:

1. Please help connect your child to potential sponsors and help them acquire pledges from family, friends and contacts.

2. Ask your child about the “D.R.E.A.M. Big” character trait they learn at school each day during the Boosterthon Fun Run program.

3. Please come to the Boosterthon Fun Run on November 13^th - don’t forget to invite others to attend our fun community event. (times will be published soon!)

4. Help us promote thankfulness in our community by encouraging students to thank their sponsors for their support to our school!
