Run the Final Lap for the Fun Run!

Thank you VERY much for supporting the Fun Run!   What an incredible day the students had - all to support Science and Technology at Ford Elementary School.  A BIG thank you to parents, grandparents and other family members who were present to cheer on the runners and help pass out water!

 

Now it it time to run the final lap!

Please use the blue envelope provided for your child to use when collecting pledges. If you did not receive, no problem - just please place all of your donations in an envelope and give to your child's teacher. Return your donations by Thursday, November 5th.  Checks should be made payable to CCSF - Ford ES Foundation.   Remember all contributions are 100% tax deductible!  10% of the collections will go directly back to the classrooms.

The Boosterthon Fun Run involved EVERY CHILD regardless of financial participation.  Here are a few of the facts:

• Pledges have been received from all 50 states and over 20 different countries
• Nearly 70% of Ford Elem. students participated financially in the program
• If we collect all of our pledges, we will have raised close to $30,000 for the Science Lab, our classrooms and students of Ford Elementary. 

 

Also, two classrooms will enjoy a Pizza celebration from Cici’s Pizza by accomplishing the following:

 ·         The classroom with the top % of pledges collected by November 5th

 ·         The classroom with the top dollar amount collected

Cici's Pizza, Signs & More and Ferguson Chiropractic are helping to sponsor the celebrations! THANK YOU!!

 

Now the final lap has to be run. Let’s make it 100% at Ford Elementary! It is so important to bring in the pledges dollars in order to sustain our Science Lab.

Fun Run Postponed to Thursday, October 29th

Due to the rain and condition of the field, the Boosterthon Fun Run has been moved to the Rain Date -  Thursday, October 29th.  Also, the times have been moved to the following:

 

2nd & 5th: 10:15a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Pre-K, K & 1st: 11:30 - 12:45p.m.

3rd & 4th: 12:45 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Come out to support your runner and go the distance to support Science and Technology at Ford Elementary School!

Keep the pledges coming in!  We currently have donations from 47 states.  Remember the proceeds all go to help sustain our AWESOME Science Lab!

FUN RUN 2009: Go the Distance for Science and Technology!

October 19th (Pep Rally) – October 28th (Fun Run)

On October 19th , we will be kicking off the Boosterthon Fun Run. Please look for your child’s Top Secret online access code to learn how you can assist our school.

The Boosterthon Fun Run is interactive, community-based and promotes three specific values: FITNESS, EDUCATION & CHARACTER. Students will be challenged to secure 10 pledges for the laps they will be running on October 28^th. Students will “run” for 30 minutes and average 25-35 laps with a “lap cap” of 35 laps.

Last year, pledges were received from across 49 states and 10 different countries!! 

All proceeds help Ford Elementary sustain the Science Lab, enhance classroom education &

add Technology Lab support by January 2010!

The Boosterthon Fun Run is for EVERY student regardless of financial giving. All students receive an All-Star T-Shirt and we invite all parents to come to the Boosterthon Fun Run and share this great event with them!

This year's theme is "STAND UP" with Character Lessons focusing on:

Serve one another
Take time to read
Ask great questions
Never give up
Discover your talents

We ask you to help Ford Elementary in the following four ways:

1. Please help connect your child to potential sponsors and help them acquire pledges from family, friends and contacts.

2. Ask your child about the “S.T.A.N.D. Up” character trait they learn at school each day during the Boosterthon Fun Run program.

3. Please come to the Boosterthon Fun Run on October 28^th - don’t forget to invite others to attend our fun community event. (times will be published soon!)

4. Help us promote thankfulness in our community by encouraging students to thank their sponsors for their support to our school!

2:45p: Staff Rally

8:15a:  K, 1

9:30a: 3,4

10:45a: 2, 5
